our group uses 40 denier tricot; we just buy it online from www.fabricdepotco.com

some folks i've met use much springier stuff-- which takes a lot of energy to climb on but cushions long drops a bit-- but i don't know what it's called.

Yes, she is really nice and has a fabulous sample set. I recently got my new tissue from Fabric Depot. I haven't rigged it yet, but I have a feeling this will be my favorite one yet! My least favorite one is from Saltex. I have one I really like the feel of from Custom Built, but the color was not quite what I expected and it was way more expensive. I have a feeling I will be staying with Fabric Depot.

fabricdepot seems way overpriced. for 6 dollars a yard i could buy real silk, which is stronger and better looking. however, most people in LA seem to be using heavy two way stretch lycra. i tried 4 way stretch once. big mistake. the stretch should be in the horizontal, not the vertical. if not using lycra you can add some spring with a short loop of heavy duty bungy cord at the top. buy from versales, tie with fisherman's knot. this increases safety by reducing shock load to fabric, as well as making drops a bit less cutting. personally i horrify everyone by using a gigantic bunch of rubber bands.

oops i looked at fabricdepot instead of fabricdepotco. the prices are still outrageous compared to walking into a fabric store in downtown LA. And doubly outrageous compared to where i am now, in bangkok.

e-mail- info@knitrama.com out of montreal has super good quality poly interlock nice n' springy for those hardcore drops...it's a cicus outlet so the prices are a little more(4$ a yard) but definately high standards for quality.....shipping is cheap as it's super lightweight!
                happy highflyn'

it isn't all that cheap but i got some at the Pahurat market. There is a store that sells shiny and stretch fabrics, and they have some in white, 60" rolls. They don't have the 120" stuff. But it works just fine. I just realized I am replying to an 18 month old post. Well whatever, for future reference.

    sassy sew

it's amazing, and if you do wholesale its wicked cheap!
they might give you a little heck about how they are a bunch of old southern ladies and they pack it themselves....but more than a few circus go through them so they'll do it.

    g'luck
