So I've heard that Fabric Depot Company is the best place to get aerial silk. so I went to their web site and l took a look at their catalog. I've never ordered fabric before so I don't know much about the fabric types and stuff so I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of fabric I need to use for tissu. I'm looking for a very stretchy fabric thats pretty thick. I've heard it's a polyester and lycra or something like that, and double stretch, with inter-something, I'm not quite sure. I'm not looking for tricot, I know I don't like tricot. I'm just not quite sure what the fabric i like is called and what fabric i should get from the Fabric Depot Company. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks so much!!!

Re: Fabric Depot Company
Sun, April 19, 2009 - 11:15 PMI suppose you are very good at climbing. Or perhaps you will be lifted? Stretchy fabric is very hard to climb. I prefer a tissu with very little stretch to it. So, sorry, I don't know the name of the kind of fabric you seek. Wish I could be more helpful. Have you tried asking Susan at Fabric Depot Company? -

Re: Fabric Depot Company
Mon, April 20, 2009 - 12:34 AMI purchased my fabric from them and it is the most beautiful purple and feels oh so good. It's the 110"w 40 Denier tricot. Why do you want so much stretch? This fabric gives well on big drops and is still a delight to climb. I have to say that if you just call Fabric Depot the most helpful and pleasant experience awaits you. Southern hospitality all the way. If you want something with more stretch they can help you figure it out with samples and everything. Call! But consider the tricot, it is wonderful.

Re: Fabric Depot Company
Mon, April 20, 2009 - 3:02 PMI am a decent climer. I've almost always worked on stretchy fabric though, i personally find it much easier to climb than non-stretchy fabrics, I also find that the stretchier the fabric is the easier it is to work on tricks and wraps as well as drops. I suppose for those who are just working on climbing, non stretch may be easier. but anyways I don't like tricot much because of how sleek it generally is. at least the tricot i've worked on before. where i trained we used tricot for hammocks not tissus. I'll try calling the company though. thanks!
